Aurore Casanova left her job as a ballerina to return to her mothers’  vines and together with her husband brought the Casanova label to life in 2016. Certified organic and also practicing biodynamic farming Aurore is making wines that remind of a strong ballet performance, thrilling, breathtaking at times and perfectly structured. “Malo” is a lieu dit vineyard planted in 1990, mid slope which is perfect for sun exposure and drainage. 100% Chardonnay this is a regal wine with astounding layering and length. Dried apricots, gardenia, sea shells, roasted almonds and buttery rich bread on the long finish. Tiny production from a domaine that makes 1,250 cases total annual production. This is a treat indeed.
