It’s named after the Italian word for cherry because the grape has a bright red cherry flavor. This wine is bright, fresh and lean and lively in the mouth with hints of sage and violets.  Serve it slightly chilled for a refreshing summer red!  A great buy
Description

Ciliegiolo {chee-lee'eh-joh-loh} is an ancient Tuscan grape that some say is the father of Sangiovese and others say is the offspring of Sangiovese. Nevertheless they are related. It’s named after the Italian word for cherry because the grape has a bright red cherry flavor which is very true of this delicious red wine.  It’s bright, fresh and lean and lively in the mouth with hints of sage and violets.  Serve it slightly chilled for a refreshing summer red!  A great buy!
